Body Lift
A body lift removes circumferential excess skin and tissue around the lower trunk to improve contour after major weight loss or significant skin laxity.
The Procedure
Around 3 hours
General anaesthetic
Hospital Stay
1–2 nights
Drains
May be required
Recovery
Recovery is more substantial than for limited body-contouring procedures. Early mobility can be restricted and assistance may be needed initially. Swelling and bruising gradually settle over the following weeks, while final contour continues to evolve over several months.

Procedure Details
A lower body lift, sometimes described as a belt lipectomy, is an extensive body-contouring procedure designed to address loose skin and tissue around the abdomen, flanks, lower back and buttock region. It is most commonly considered after significant weight loss, although other causes of marked skin laxity may also be relevant.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and typically uses a circumferential incision around the lower torso. Excess skin and tissue are removed and the remaining tissues are repositioned and closed. The exact extent and whether additional procedures are combined depends on the individual surgical plan.
