Procedure Details
Some patients choose to remove breast implants because of personal preference, implant age, symptoms or complications. Autoaugmentation uses existing breast tissue to reshape the breast after implant removal, often alongside a lift.
The implant and, where indicated, part or all of the surrounding capsule are removed. Existing breast tissue is then reshaped and repositioned, frequently using mastopexy techniques.
Follow up
Wound/dressing review at 7-10 days; surgeon review at around 4-8 weeks.
